Hello!

Quick info:
Rent: £600 per month
Bills: Around £200 p/m on top of this. (Croydon council tax = £220 per month divided by 2 housemates, so that's the main outgoing cost!)

Public transport:
15 mins walk to Norwood Junction via park with lake
5 mins walk to Blackhorse Lane tram stop
2 mins from bus stop for the 197
1 min walk to Tesco Express

Please note - pics show a double sofa bed in the bedroom. I am buying brand new double and mattress and will update with pics asap.

Move in date is flexible from mid June onwards. Keen to find the right person! Open to shorter term lets, but ideally looking for someone who is keen to be here longer term.

I'm Flo - I'm a theatre director and Artistic Director of theatre company/ registered charity based in South Norwood.

I am looking for a friendly, calm, conscientious and mindful housemate to join me in my beautiful, spacious and creative ground floor flat.

The room:
- A small (ish) double bedroom which I am decorating with nice furnishings/ a quality mattress! You are welcome to make the space your own as long as you return it to the condition it was in when you arrived when you leave.
- It currently has a mid-century modern set of tall boy drawers and an open wardrobe rail.
- I am in the process of purchasing a new double bed frame with under-bed storage space, and a brand new mattress. Pics are of the room as it has been, with a full size double sofa-bed (which will be gone by your arrival).

The flat has:
- Large open plan living room/ dining area/ kitchen with space to work from home
- A large bathroom with both shower and a lovely bath
- Washer/ dryer
- Dishwasher
- Projector in the living room for cosy film nights inc Apple TV with Netflix etc etc
- Pod coffee machine
- A (currently slightly messy!) garden with a small patio and seating area
- Lots of natural light
- Brand new herringbone flooring and bathroom tiling - it's a new build (3 years old) so it's a really functional, warm and fresh space.
- Nearby free parking on Woodside Green
- Visitor's/ disabled parking in the communal parking lot
- Secure bike storage
- The flat is an accessible ground floor flat

About me:
- I'm a single 31 year old woman
- I am creative - as well as working in theatre I like writing, poetry and watching films.
- I like a balance between community and independence in my living set up - cosy dinners, film nights, little chats about how our days have been, but also respecting privacy and the need for our own space physically and mentally so that we are free to come and go as we please!
- I love to meditate, and try to do that every day
- I love cooking and sharing recipes and dinners
- I work in my office Monday- Friday locally and sometimes go away for work from time to time when opening a show.
- I sometimes have friends/ dates round for dinner, and would welcome my housemate to do the same.
- I am a clean, and pretty conscientious housemate. I'm happy to discuss how we want to live together, what values we share around cleaning/ tidying, and how we can share the workload fairly! I'd be open to having a fortnightly cleaner for communal spaces if we wanted to discuss this.
- I am a BSL sign language learner (and use BSL a lot for work), and so I welcome deaf housemates to apply!
- I have a pet dog who does not currently live at my flat, and is staying with my parents as I have been living away from home for the past 6 months. I would be keen to know if potential housemates are open to living with a small, friendly, hypoallergenic Cavapoo (or having her here part-time) however this may not happen.

I am looking for someone who is in a similar stage in their life to me (working professional, late 20's/ thirties, possibly also a creative) who will bring a calm, kind, friendly energy into the house! I value clear, kind communication, collaboration and community-mindedness!

I hope it goes without saying, but I really welcome housemates who are queer/ LGBTQ+, disabled, deaf, Black/ Global Majority, and recipients of benefits.

No Tories, racists, sexists, terfs, swerfs!

I would prefer to live with a non-smoker (as I am an ex smoker), and would not be comfortable with heavy drug use/ alcohol use at home.
