Sunny Double Room in Barnes- All bills inc
A sunny room to rent in a lovely three bed flat in Barnes. 'tis on the top floor (3rd) of a friendly 1950s block with windows on three sides which bathe the flat in light. There are communal gardens and a shed downstairs so it's perfect for cyclists or hoarders!
The flat has a large eat-in kitchen and a lounge with plenty of space for books/ ornaments and any items you want to keep out of your room. We live very communally so like to keep some items where they can be shared by all. The bathroom is huge and newly refitted; loads of cupboard space, and a fantastic dual headed shower over the bath. On the landing each room has a large cupboard which previous tenants have used as wardrobes to maximise space in the bedrooms.
Room
...a small double available at £660 all in, it gets the morning sunshine and no need to close the blinds since we're on the top floor- you get a lovely patch of sky. It has a built in desk area with lots of bookshelves. There is a large built in wardrobe on the landing which also serves the room, with space for a chest of drawers in it if required. We rent the flat unfurnished, but can offer a mattress and a few other items to start you off. (The room takes a 4ft width bed)
Dep £650. 00 (1 month notice, 6 month min stay)
We're equidistant from Barnes and Barnes Bridge Stations- it's a five minute walk to each and then you're 20mins from Waterloo- hurtling along the river past Battersea Power Station and some great London views. If you prefer the tube then we've a choice of four buses into Hammersmith which take ten minutes maximum and there are two night buses starting at Kings Cross and coming through the centre of town.
Barnes is a beautiful place to be- we live two minutes from the river and both like to cycle and enjoy the fantastic pubs. If you have visitors it's grand- they can reach Putney or Kew by river taxi from town which always makes for a pleasant introduction!
I'm a Choreographer and teach dance in Universities. Tan works in publishing. We met on here but have become great friends and enjoy evenings of sharing food/ trips to the pub whenever we can. Neither are fans of three lots of milk, butter, sugar etc and separate shelves, but work on a 'finish it, replace it' basis and a trust that noone will eat your proper food, unless they want to pay penance! Another creative soul would be super, but don't be put off if that's not your field- a non creative might just be a refreshing addition! Gay boys and girls are most welcome if not preferable! (Youch apologies for the flagrant discrimination towards straight men- you're welcome too if you're clean and tidy!) We operate a largely unspoken 'what jobs suit you/ your schedule this week' anti resentment cleaning plan and keep the place clean as we go except for my weekly therapy cleaning outbursts accompanied by magic fm. Yes- this is a house where grime makes us sad, we're not OCD, it's certainly lived in, but we like to have it so that you can bring dear ones back and not have them put their handbag in someone's toast crumbs!
At present, we're pretty welcome of each other's friends and the odd overnight visitor, but that's of course negotiable with new soul's comfort levels. There's certainly space and an abundance of spare bedding for friendly souls to stop by.
We need to fill the room by 1st July. Sooner would be fine (we've a sofabed in the lounge that the current tenant could use) and later by a few days/a week might be negotiable for the right match!
Rent includes Water, Elec, Gas, Council Tax, TV Lic and Broadband and veg from my allotment!
Happy hunting!
