Bright And Large Double Room In A Lovely House.

BIG, BRIGHT and AIRY double room in a lovely period town house. Positioned on a wide quiet street in the heart of buzzy Camberwell just south of central London.

The house is a typical London townhouse packed with plants, art, tall ceilings and period features. It has four bedrooms with a large shared bathroom, kitchen, sitting room, utility room (with another separate loo), garage, big garden and roof terrace.

The room available is a quiet and big double room on the top floor. It has white painted floor boards, a wardrobe, double bed, an additional sofa-bed and potentially other furnishings.

The current housemates are Jody, (47, male, photographer / Solar Power installer and live-in landlord), and Dan (38, male, works for an impact consultancy). Dan lives mainly in Newcastle with his husband and visits generally a week at a time and is in the house about two weeks out of four. Jody has two young girls (5yrs and 3yrs) who stay at the house every weekend, and may pop by during the week. So preferably you will be a child-friendly sort of person and not mind the charming nonsense that goes with kids.

We're looking for someone who needs a place during the week but ideally not around at the weekend so that I can have the place more like a family home when the kids are with me. The kids can be noisy, messy and wake up early! Also we would like a conscientious and friendly professional who will be focussed with whatever it is they are doing. Ideally you are not always working from home.

The rent is £850 and includes council tax, gas and electricity bills, fast fibre optic broadband, Virgin Media TV, water etc. (But not a cleaner which is currently costing us about £10/ week each and has to be paid directly to her). The room is available from 14th April.

Locally there are tons of restaurants, bars, parks, sports facilities (several tennis courts, and a leisure centre 5mins walk away). Several supermarkets, a major hospital, art galleries, a theatre and cinema nearby. So lots going on - but I'm sure you're aware of the vibe in Camberwell.

There is a overground/train station within a 10mins walk (Denmark Hill) and two tube stops, Oval and Elephant + Castle, a short bus trip away. Central London is about 20min cycle ride.
