Nice big room in Victorian house!
|
Hi everyone! We have a double room up for rent in our 5 bedroom (3 up, 2 down), detached house in Highgate. There are currently 4 guys in the house and ideally, we'd prefer a female to balance things out but this is not a necessity! The house is rather old (about 120 years!) and hasn't lost much of its character with Hampstead Heath a 15 minute walk away. We have a massive garden with a pond, parking space and bbq which is great fun in the summer. The current tenants are a '20-somethings' mixture including- A PhD student (Vincent), stock broker (David), writer/patent stuff (Toby) and Paul (Accountant). We're a pleasant, sane bunch and would like the new tenant to be just that (i. e. not have anger issues/be ridiculously messy). We have a nice lounge with a TV and enjoy socialising after work with the odd beer/glass of wine but definitely aren't in each others faces all the time. The bedroom on offer is a spacious downstairs double (used to be the living room many moons ago) with lots of space and a fireplace. The previous tenant had his own furniture (i. e. bed, desk and wardrobes) hence the room is now unfurnished. The landlord will be fine with putting a bed, desk and wardrobe into the room if the new tenant doesn't have their own stuff (no extra costs!) Some key details: All bills are included in the rent (except house necessities such as loo roll and cleaning stuff which we get between us). Therefore, council tax, water, gas, tv and internet are sorted. Virgin internet/tv I'm writing this rather quickly and there may be some things I'm missing out but hopefully the key basics have been covered. The room will be available from 1st Feb. If you're still reading then I hope you like the sound of the house! It has certainly got character and has a good vibe (I've lived here for 3 years, David 4 years). We'd appreciate a pleasant housemate who doesn't take themselves too seriously and get easily irritated by irrelevant things in life. If you do plan on coming over for a viewing, please drop me an email with your name and a bit about yourself and any other questions, just so we can get a jist of what to expect! The house is about a 10-15 min walk from Highgate tube station. Or, the landlord's number is below and he will be happy to show you around the house if noone is in. Thanks! Photos |
