This place has it covered with a good sized bedroom on offer within a modern living space and a safe convenient location! All bills included.

Room is available 18 April 2023 but open to some flexibility after this date. Sorry not available before 18 April.

Furnished room- double bed, mattress & memory foam topper, desk, chair, built in wardrobe with full height mirrors.

The room is in a 2-bedroom apartment based on the 2nd floor of a modern block.

This home would suit a someone who is respectful, clean and who can bring a nice personality to the flat. I’m looking for someone to share conversation in the normal likes of travel, movies, music, food and arts and anything more that makes you nice, decent and interesting! The aim is to have a relaxed home environment for both of us.

Room is for full week Monday to Sunday but anyone seeking a Monday-Friday only (pro rata) then I’ll be happy to receive messages from you also.

THE ROOM

The room is big and has a nice bright spacious character with a double bed (wood frame, mattress, topper), desk, built in wardrobe and enough space to make it your own.

THE FLAT

The building is modern (2016) and it’s got a really nice calm, warm style, which is sometimes rare to find in a new build. It’s carpeted and white-walled throughout and it’s got all the modern expectations of underfloor heating, secure video entry phone and a decent spec cooker, hob, fridge, dish washer and washing machine. There is a secure bike storage shed close to the flat.

It’s on the 2nd floor, but it’s also in a block of only 3 flats so it’s extra safe and very very quiet in that respect.

The flat has 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and an open plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Furnished with a modern style and art.

HOUSE MATE

I moved into the flat January 2016 and I lived in the general area for a number of years. I really like the location and the flat. I want you to be able to relax and enjoy the flat as much as I do- so getting the right fit is going to be important for us both. Although I’ll want to look after the place I want the person I share with to feel like it’s their home too. I’ve shared flats in London for a while and I know your space is as important as mine.

I’m a working professional and I’m a balanced and rounded person most of the time! I’ve travelled a fair bit, lived abroad, like to keep fit and do the normal socialising things.

LOCATION

Zone 2 - On the south side of the River Thames!

A ten minute walk to Surrey Quays Overground station

Close to Canada Water or Bermondsey stations

The immediate area has great cafes/restaurants, 2 local express supermarkets Tesco & Co-op in the the development. A Lidl within 5 minutes and a large Tesco at Canada Water. There’s a lot on offer nearby.

TRANSPORT

Superb Underground, Overground, DLR, River Clipper and Bus connections. 24-hour bus routes are very close including Canada Water bus station. Zone 1-2 is cost effective too. Night tube very close on the Jubilee at Canada Water.

London Bridge, Waterloo, Canary Wharf, Liverpool Street are very quick to get to and the nearby Jubilee line for wider connections.

Trains:

Surrey Quays Overground is a superb to connect onto the Jubilee & DLR

Jubilee Line- The Overground train from Surrey Quays takes 30 seconds to Canada Water for the Jubilee line.

DLR- Shadwell is a mere 3 stops on the Overground to change onto the DLR

Buses:

188 Russell Square-North Greenwich route stop is 30 seconds walk away

47 & N47 Shoreditch High Street-Catford route stop 30 seconds walk away

199 Canada Water- Catford route is 3 mins walk away

N199 Trafalgar Square to St Mary Cray is 3 mins walk away

N1 New Oxford St- Titmuss Avenue 30 seconds walk away

225 Hither Green- Canada Water route stop is 5 mins walk away

Canada Water is a big bus hub for lots of routes and is walkable.

These buses aren’t far away either:

381 Waterloo-Peckham route stop is next to Rotherhithe station

C10 Victoria- Canada Water route stop is next to Rotherhithe station

P12 Brockley Rise-Surrey Quays route stop is 5 min walk away

River Bus:

Crossings to Canary Wharf and other routes are very close.

BENEFITS

The area is very safe and with transport links so close it means getting home and away is convenient and not a risk. It’s not far from the river and Southwark and Deptford Parks are close for a run or a walk.

The area is not a late night party suburb, which makes it a very quiet and a restful flat and location. However, there are a couple of nice pubs around Canada Water, Rotherhithe and Wapping. Deptford and New Cross also close options. With Bermondsey and London Bridge not far to the other direction.

For cinema, bowling, takeaways and restaurants the location is very close to Canada Water and Surrey Quays high street. There’s also a library and a large shopping centre in Canada Water which includes a Tesco and Decathlon. The Canada Water area is currently undergoing a massive uplift.

Reference checks on the successful housemate will take place with your current employer and previous landlord. Contract will be provided.

Cleaning- I'm happy to clean the flat weekly and general respectful tidy up ‘as we go’, but you'd be responsible for own room cleaning.
