The House

Room to let in semi-detached house 3 minutes walk from Bounds Green Station (Piccadilly Line Zone 3). The house has a modern kitchen with a washing-machine, fridge, freezer, oven and hobs and lots of useful kitchenware. You will be sharing a large bathroom with other tenants. The shower temperature and pressure is excellent.

The Area
Bounds Green is a quiet residential neighbourhood with a few pubs, off-licenses (mini-supermarkets), two pharmacies, a post office, stationers, newsagents, Tesco Express, dry cleaners and a couple of good takeaways (fish and chips, Chinese, very good pizza, a chicken 'n' chips shop and Turkish) all close to the tube station, which is three minutes walk from the house. The neighbouring tube stop is at the end of a very busy high street. There are two multiplex cinemas, a bunch of cafes, busy pubs, restaurants, loads of fashion stores (including a Topshop, Topman, H&M, Primark), large department stores, as well as a rather large mall, the aptly named Shopping City. All of that is only two minutes away by tube or five minutes by bus. Over weekends it gets as busy as Oxford Street, so it's very convenient to be able to drop in during the week on the way home from work when it's less crowded. In the opposite direction, just up the hill, lies a very trendy upmarket village Broadway with a few good bars and some top restaurants. If you like getting away from the buzz of the city streets every now and again you don't even have to take a train or a bus from Bounds Green to do so, because Alexandra Park Nature Reserve is a 10 minute walk away. The 4. 5 mile Parkland Walk connects the nature reserve to Finsbury Park, so you can stroll or bike along miles of quiet wooded trails without hearing a single car horn and enjoy some stunning views of London within minutes of leaving the house. If you want to be posh for a day just hike up the hill through Alexandra Palace Nature Reserve and soak up some of the best views over the city while walking in what feels like the countryside, or catch the 102 for a 10 minute bus ride to Muswell Hill, where you'll find loads of bars, restaurants, a pretty good Odeon cinema and some great (if somewhat pricey) boutiques and charity shops.

Transport
Bounds Green is great for getting into the city without hassle. It is just three minute walk to the tube station for a 25 minute ride to Oxford Circus or a 5 minute walk to Bowes Park train station for an 18 minute ride to Old Street / Moorgate. If you've missed the last tube home and spent your cab fare on the last round you can catch the N91 night bus which starts at Trafalgar Square and stops at Holborn / Euston / St. Pancras / Kings Cross / Caledonian Road and drops you off about 100 metres from the front door. If you had a night out in the East End you can get the N243 at Old street or Shoreditch. Camden is the N29. These routes take you to Wood Green, which is just down the road.
